The 2024 Civic Si stands alone as a single trim package. A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine making 200 hp and 192 lb.-ft. of torque forms the powertrain with the aforementioned six-speed manual gearbox with rev-matching. This provides the driver with far more control – and fun – than the conventional Civic’s continuously variable transmission (CVT). It returns good fuel economy is commendable, as the EPA has determined that it achieves 27 mpg around town and 37 mpg on the open road.
The Civic Si focuses on sport, with race-inspired front seats that are lighter in weight, plus red contrast stitching, 18-inch matte-black wheels, sport pedals, a limited-slip differential for optimal cornering, dual chrome exhaust finishers, and a decklid spoiler finished in gloss black. Aside from those attributes, its standard equipment is similar to that of the standard Civic’s most expensive trim, the Touring, with the likes of proximity keyless entry, automatic climate control, a moonroof, auto-on/off LED headlights, heated side mirrors, push-button start, a 60/40-split folding second-row seatback with a folding center armrest with cupholders, and a steering wheel and shift knob wrapped in pleasantly soft leather.
As far as technology, its 8-inch multimedia system has a customizable touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), HD Radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and a sound system with seven speakers. Honda’s useful CabinControl system is also standard, so that passengers can control certain vehicle functions via smartphone.
The Honda Sensing driver-assist technology bundle comes installed in the 2024 Civic Si. Among its safety-enhancing features are automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning with collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. Its rearview camera is upgraded with dynamic gridlines to give the operator more confidence, especially when backing out of a parking space.
