Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Economy

At press time, only the Touring trim has been confirmed via photographs from Honda; however, the current hybrid models can help predict the trim lineup and performance specs for the 2025 Civic Sedan Hybrid. Hybrid variants of the 2024 Accord and 2024 CR-V both carry the Sport, Sport-L, and Touring, which indicates that the 2025 Civic Sedan Hybrid and Civic Hatchback Hybrid lineups could look similar. Honda’s powertrain for current hybrid models is a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, a lithium-ion high-voltage battery, and an electronic continuously variable transmission. This hybrid system outdoes both the fuel economy and power (horsepower and torque) of the gasoline-only Accord and CR-V, and so the Civic Sedan Hybrid and Civic Hatchback Hybrid should also see enhanced performance metrics over their gas-only siblings.

Styling and Features

As previously mentioned, a lot can be determined by analyzing the current hybrid roster, and that includes standard amenities. Just as the LX is the base trim for the gas-only Civic Sedan, Accord, and CR-V, the Sport is typically the entry-level version for hybrid models. The Accord Sport Hybrid and CR-V Sport Hybrid both come well-appointed with features like a power moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, larger alloy wheels, and a more powerful audio system with added speakers. Although Honda is yet to announce trims or feature sets, the base trims for the ‘25 Civic Hybrid Sedan and hatchback should be equipped with many of the same amenities listed above.

Advanced Safety Tech

Regardless of model or trim, Honda is well known for loading its vehicles full of active and passive safety features, not to mention driver-assistive technologies. This commitment should continue onboard the ‘25 Civic Sedan Hybrid and ‘25 Civic Hatchback Hybrid. The current gasoline-only Civic Sedan LX (base trim) comes equipped with a slate of 10 safety technologies within the Honda Sensing suite: adaptive cruise control, a driver attention monitor, forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, and auto high-beam headlights. It’s completely reasonable to assume that both Civic Hybrid body styles for 2025 will be set up the same way.
