Trims and Powertrain

All three 2025 Passport trims—EX-L, TrailSport, and Black Edition—get their zest from a robust 3.5-liter V6 engine making 280 horsepower. That engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission to manage the standard all-wheel-drive (AWD). This advanced AWD system features Intelligent Traction Management with snow/sand/mud capability.

The EPA-estimated fuel economy for all three Passport trims is 19 mpg around town and 24 mpg on the highway. The cargo space is noteworthy for a two-row crossover: 50.5 cubic feet behind the back row and 100.8 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded. When it’s properly equipped, the Passport can tow up to 5,000 pounds, making it ideal for pulling a boat, camper, or recreational equipment.

Standard Features

The EX-L is far from an entry-level version, thanks to upscale features like leather upholstery, a power moonroof, remote start, tri-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power tailgate, a ten-way power driver’s seat, a four-way power front passenger seat, and a driver’s memory system. It also has proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, LED exterior lighting, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, sound-reducing windshield glass, rear privacy glass, heated sideview mirrors, wireless device charging, four USB ports (two per row) and 20-inch alloy wheels.

The TrailSport’s main claim to fame is an off-road-tuned suspension supported by all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels, creating a setup that’s ideal for light to moderate adventures beyond the pavement. It’s distinguished visually from the other trims by exclusive exterior treatments. It also gets LED fog lights, gloss-black roof rails, power-folding side mirrors, rear door sunshades, and ambient cabin lighting.

The Black Edition gets all of the equipment listed for the EX-L, plus a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a hands-free tailgate, power-folding side mirrors with automatic dimming, rear-seat climate controls, rain-sensing windshield wipers, sound-reducing front side glass, rear-door sunshades, ambient cabin lighting, and 20-inch alloy wheels. Like the TrailSport, it gets LED fog lights and gloss-black roof rails.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Honda Sensing, a suite of advanced driver-assistance technologies, is installed in every 2025 Passport. It incorporates forward collision warning, collision mitigation, road-departure mitigation, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, a rear-seat reminder, and front and rear parking sensors. A full set of airbags is also standard, as are anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, hill start assist, and a multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Every trim of the 2025 Honda Passport uses an 8-inch color touchscreen for multimedia. The system is enhanced with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, SMS text messaging, and access to the HondaLink smartphone app. The TrailSport and Black Edition are upgraded with integrated navigation; the Black Edition adds access to a Wi-Fi hotspot. Audio is delivered through a 215-watt, seven-speaker system in the EX-L and TrailSport, while the Black Edition gets the ultimate treatment with a 540-watt, ten-speaker arrangement.
