2021 Honda Insight for Sale in West Warwick, RI
The 2021 Honda Insight is a well-regarded hybrid sedan that boasts excellent fuel economy along with contemporary good looks. While it has many similarities with the ever-popular Honda Civic – an easy-going ride quality and highly practical interior, but the main difference, of course, is that one burns gas only and the other is a gas-electric hybrid. High among the improvements on the latest iteration of this eco-friendly car is that the LaneWatch rear-facing camera system has been upgraded. The 2021 Insight instead gets a blind-spot monitoring system that does more than show a view of the passenger’s side blind spot, as LaneWatch did. This new system flashes a warning light when it senses something within the car’s blind spot on either side. Also, the top trim, the Touring, now gets standard navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, and leather seats.
Powertrain and Trim Levels
The 2021 Honda Insight is sold in three trim levels: LX, EX, and Touring. All are driven by a strong and efficient Honda hybrid power system made up of a four-cylinder gasoline engine and electric motors; the total system horsepower of 151. The gear ratios are determined by an electronic continuously variable transmission (e-CVT) that drives the front wheels. The LX and EX return an EPA-estimated 55 mpg in the city and 49 mpg on the highway; the Touring, which weighs a tad more because it’s loaded with standard equipment, gets 51 city/45 highway.
Comfort and Convenience
The entry-level LX is well-appointed with LED headlights and taillights, heated side mirrors, automatic climate control, push-button ignition, a fold-down rear seatback, and a rearview camera system. The EX provides Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, and a rear seat center armrest. The top-of-the-line Touring introduces an array of high-end features, such as rain-sensing wipers, LED turn signal indicators built into the side mirrors, chrome accents for the exterior, a moonroof, LED fog lights, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated power-adjustable front seats, and leather upholstery.
Safety and Technology
All 2021 Honda Insights are supplied with the Honda Sensing suite of active driver aids: collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning. Every trim also gets automatic high beams, but the EX and Touring are upgraded with the new blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert.
The LX has the base infotainment system with a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth hands-free and audio streaming, and a six-speaker audio system; there’s a USB port as well. The EX moves up to an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen and adds two more speakers, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite and high-definition radio, an additional USB port, and HondaLink remote services. The Touring is loaded with a premium 10-speaker audio system, integrated navigation, additional HondaLink subscription services, and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot (which requires an AT&T data plan).
