A certified pre-owned vehicle (CPO) is one that has been reconditioned based on strict automaker standards for mechanical and physical condition. Candidates for Honda’s CPO program have to pass a rigorous inspection process (182 points, to be exact, and those that pass will be fully reconditioned and given special warranty protection. If the CPO model was manufactured between 2014 and 2020, it will be covered by the HondaTrue Certified plan, while 2018 to 2020 model-year CPOs get HondaTrue Certified+.
Each plan comes with a 7-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, 24-hour roadside assistance, up to two complimentary oil changes within the first year of ownership, eligibility for Honda Care, and a three-month trial subscription for SiriusXM satellite radio. The only difference between the two is that HondaTrue Certified includes a 4-year/48,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty if the vehicle is purchased within the new vehicle limited warranty period. If it’s purchased after, it gets a Honda certified vehicle limited warranty of 1 year/12,000 miles. With HondaTrue Certified+, a 5-year/86,000-mile warranty is supplied in each case.
