2026 Honda Civic Hybrid Sedan Hero

Honda continues to unite its beloved compact sedan’s long-renowned practicality and versatility with power and outstanding efficiency in its hybrid variant. The 2026 Civic Hybrid makes up to 200 horsepower, outpacing its gas-only counterpart by 50 horses. It’s also a star when it comes to fuel economy, with the gas engine/dual-motor powerplant achieving an EPA-estimated 50 mpg around town.

While the 2025 Civic Hybrid earned North American Car of the Year honors, the 2026 edition is much the same. It retains the exterior updates that were introduced last model year, preserving the Civic’s distinctive front fascia, and of course provides its drivers with the classic Honda attributes of longevity, dependability, and value.

Trims and Powertrain

The 2026 Civic Sedan Hybrid lineup consists of a pair of trim packages called Sport and Sport Touring. Their gas-electric powertrain pairs an Atkinson-cycle inline 4-cylinder engine with dual electric motors, yielding 200 combined horsepower and 232 lb.-ft. of torque. Both trims get a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a front-wheel-drivetrain (FWD). Their EPA-estimated fuel economy is 50 mpg around town and 47 mpg on the highway. Both trims come with deceleration selectors for regenerative braking control. A standard drive-mode selector provides the Sport with Econ, Normal, and Sport settings, joined by the customizable Individual drive mode on the Sport Touring.
