For 2027, the CR-V Hybrid keeps electric-motor power at the center of the driving experience, with 204 total horsepower and a direct-drive unit rather than a conventional automatic transmission. In simple terms, the direct-drive system sends power to the wheels without shifting through gears. Meanwhile, the electric traction motor powers the wheels in many driving situations, while the gasoline engine can drive the wheels directly at higher cruising speeds. Fuel economy in this well-equipped five-seater can reach 43 mpg.
The CR-V Hybrid’s upgrades for 2027 include Agile Handling Assist, which uses selective braking to help it turn more smoothly. The Sport Touring trim also gains an acoustic-laminate windshield and acoustic front-door glass to help reduce outside noise for more tranquil travel.
